While this ability is clearly applicable in CRM-type scenarios, Microsoft Dynamics CRM also supports a wide range of other business applications with the essentials required for building, delivering and maintaining them in a multi-tenant Software+Services environment. This white paper explores how, with Microsoft Dynamics CRM, an ISV can quickly build, deploy and manage line-of-business applications. Click here to go to the download page on microsoft.com Cheers, Ross 5/2/2008 Revealing the Relationships in CRMI recently came across a really interesting add-on product for Microsoft Dynamics CRM from a partner called SalesCentric (contact them here). SalesCentric have products that visually enhance Microsoft Dynamics CRM. You can see Account, Opportunity and Contact examples below, just click on the small picture to see a large version:
You can even view videos of these in action from the SalesCentric webs site at http://www.salescentric.com/videos.htm According to SalesCentric, their Relationship Charts for Microsoft Dynamics CRM will forever increase the value customers achieve from CRM. When sales people have relationships with key decision makers, they sell more, and when you market to customers you know and understand, response rates improve. Relationship Charts helps you achieve both, to increase Net Profit. An interesting tool that should be able to increase the overall value of the CRM investment some of your clients have made and are making. If you successfully deploy this, drop me a line and let me know about how it is making a difference. Cheers, Ross Integrating Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Microsoft Dynamics ERP products
I sometimes get asked by partners about connectors from Microsoft between CRM and our own ERP products. Today's note is to give you an update on this front. Customers who want to integrate Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Microsoft Dynamics ERP products can choose from integration solutions offered by several Dynamics partners, including Scribe, Celenia and VisionPeople. Recently at Convergence 2008, several new integration solutions were made available from Hitachi, Tectura and several other partners. We continue to evaluate market and customer needs for connectors for Dynamics CRM and Dynamics ERP products from Microsoft. As may be noted, previously Microsoft had discussed plans to deliver connectors that integrate Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Microsoft Dynamics ERP products. Some customers and partners may be wondering what the current positioning of “we continue to evaluate market and customer needs” means. Or more simply, if a customer wants to implement an end-to-end Dynamics CRM and ERP solution why can’t they rely on Microsoft’s technical expertise to build the connectors between Dynamics products? Microsoft has previously delivered a connector for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 to Microsoft Dynamics GP 9.0. The feedback from customers is that they would like to see more flexibility and simpler administration built into the connector. Therefore, to ensure we’re meeting market demands, we will conduct further analysis of customer needs before delivering a connector between Microsoft Dynamics CRM to all 4 Microsoft Dynamics ERP products. We will update you when we have more information to share. Cheers, Ross 4/24/2008 Microsoft Announces General Availability of Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online in North AmericaHi everyone, This week Microsoft announced the "general availability" of Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online for customers in North America. Cheers, Ross 4/15/2008 Getting Support for Microsoft Dynamics CRM in AustraliaHi there, From time to time partners ask me how, exactly, do they open a support incident for CRM with Microsoft's Professional Support Services (PSS) team. We have support for both CRM 3.0 and CRM 4.0 available via multiple channels from PSS for both customers and partners. Many customers have, through their Software Assurance, access to a number of support incidents (amounts vary by Volume Licensing program) that they may not be aware of. In summary, the options are:
You may use these option if you have one of the following:

Cheers, Ross 3/31/2008 Announcing Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online...What's in a name? Well you should know that the new Microsoft-hosted 'software + services' offering built on Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, has just been renamed from Microsoft Dynamics CRM Live to Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online. About 18 months ago, we announced plans to release an on-demand offering for Microsoft Dynamics CRM that is managed within Microsoft datacenters. This product is now in production with more than 500 early access customers and is moving into broad “open access” in the US and Canada in Q2 2008. During this incubation phase the working name for our new on-demand product has been Microsoft Dynamic CRM Live. In recent months, Microsoft has launched the new Online brand, with tremendous investment in and focus around on-demand technology for business users. Whereas the Live brand is focused on consumers and small businesses, the Online brand is fully aligned with our existing Microsoft Dynamics CRM strategy of delivering outstanding solutions for small businesses, mid-market companies, and large enterprises. As a result, we will be launching our new on-demand service as Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online. I should emphasise that this is a simply a name change; there is no change to our release dates, our target markets, our pricing and packaging, or any other aspect of our new service. It is still about to move into broad "open access" in the US and Canada only. Links to recent coverage of this name change:
